Angola
CAMINHO DE FERRO DE BENGUELA
The Benguela railway is the central network providing access to the inner part of the country and connecting to the Katanga mining region (Kisengue, Kolwezi, Tenke). Interrupted during the war, the CFB route was in the ’70 the preferred route for Katanga mining exports, also offering an excellent alternative for the Zambian Copperbelt area.
CAMINHO DE FERRO DE MOCAMEDES
The Moçâmedes Railway (CFM) is the most Southern of the 3 Angolan railway network, connecting Namibe (which was called Moçâmedes until 1985) to Menongue via Lubango, Matala and Dongo Novo (branching off to the Cassinga mining area (Jamba, Cateruca, Tchamutete).
Tanzania
VECTURIS has been active in Tanzania since 1999, initially on the central meter-gauge network with the TransAfrica Railways operation (shareholder and rail operator of the track access rights agreement over the national railways of Tanzania (TRC)).
More recently, VECTURIS has been advising two prospective rail clients of the Tanzania-Zambia rail corridor.
